Hey guys! Just wanted to keep you up to date on what is UP with me! Right now I am about to start a YOGA challenge! And starting august 1 I will be doing the 21 Day Sugar Detox…AGAIN! I’ll be doing that with my friend Victoria over at Lemons n Lyme…but more about that another day.
The reason I want to do this yoga challenge is that flexibility and mobility in general are very important to me. I also have immense respect for yogis and their control of their bodies and minds. Yoga is something I have always enjoyed but never been consistent with. I am ready to commit and hopefully make a habit out of it! I’m sure that my whole body will be working better after stretching and bending everyday for 3 weeks. Hopefully I can open up my hips a bit because they are TIGHT! It’s crazy what sitting in a desk for 8+ hours a day will do to you.
Of course, I always like to have objectives for everything I do. I have a few goals for this challenge which I will share with you:
Increase hip flexibility. Increase total body flexibility.
Hold plank longer (current time is: 45s )
Improve headstand abilities (strengthen core, mine is quite weak)
Continue doing yoga at least 1x per week after, hopefully more
My plan is to do the yoga in the mornings as much as possible. I think this will be a good way to start out my day and will put me in a good state of mind – hopefully for the rest of the day. I will let you all know how this goes, of course! I am hoping to have more focus, especially on my days off. Some days that will require dedicating up to 35 minutes to do it, but I am willing.
I’ll also try to post something about it on IG everyday as well. I love instagram because it is the most simple way for me to get messages out to you guys IMMEDIATELY. I’ll try to post poses from the days practice, I think that will be fun! So if you want to join me, comment below! If not, I’ll not be posting too too much about this, don’t worry.
